YEAR ROUND -

Sibley State Park - There is something for everyone at this popular west-central Minnesota State Park. Hike to Mount Tom, one of several high points in a 50-mile radius, and see a patchwork of forest, farmland, prairie knolls, and lakes. Summer visitors enjoy swimming, boating, and fishing on Lake Andrew. A canoe route invites adventurers to portage and canoe on Henschien Lake and Swan Lake. The park offers campgrounds, a modern group center, horseback camps, picnic area, and interpretive programs year-around. JUNE – 
The New London Farmer's Market – Located at Holm Park on Saturdays from June 6th, 2009 until September 26th, 7 am - 12 pm; and Tuesdays beginning July 14th, 2009 from 3 pm - 7 pm. Homegrown produce, homemade baked and canned goods, handmade crafts and handcrafted woodworking. Call Lorina at 905-1130 for more information.

Crow River Fishing Tournament
– Annual fishing derby on the Crow River on June 13, 2009. For more information, or to sign up call Greg at 320-354-2423.

Studio Hop – Prizes, food, fun, and a variety of artwork are featured during the third annual lakes-area Studio Hop scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, June 20th and 21st, in the Willmar, Spicer, and New London areas. The Studio Hop is an opportunity to tour artists’ studios, view demonstrations, and meet local artists in two days. Thirty-nine artists will be featured at twenty-one sites during this free event. The New London Historical Society Museum – Located at the Old Lebanon Church on the Hill in New London. The Historical Society Museum is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, Memorial Day to Labor Day from 1- 4. For more information call 320-354-2990


JULY – 
New London Water Days
– This annual celebration will be held Saturday, July 25th and Sunday July 26th. All day events feature a grand parade, hog roast, kids fishing derby, games & street dance. For more information call April Dorry at 354-4982 or Sharon Hanson at 354-4418.

AUGUST – 
New London to New Brighton Antique Car Run
–Features pre 1908 or one & two cylinder vehicles up to 1915. The cars are present throughout the county from Wednesday, August 5th to Saturday, August 8, 2009. On Friday, August 7th there is a costume cavalcade at the Glen Oaks Campus at 4:30, a parade down Main Street at 5:30 followed by a steak fry at the New London American Legion. The actual start of the 22nd annual race to New Brighton is Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 7:00 a.m. from the bridge on Main Street. This race is nationally sanctioned by the HCCA. New London Music Festival – The event will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Neer Park.  It features bands, concessions and fun for the whole family. Admission will be a free will offering. For more information visit the website at www.newlondonmusic.org.

SEPTEMBER – 
Prairie Pothole Day

New London Appreciation Day – Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 1:00, downtown New London. Merchant discounts and sales and a free lunch served by K95.
